Area resident places easement on family farm.

Tom Dixon with the support of his family recently place permanent protection on 312 acres of prime farmland in Walnut Township.  Located just west of SR 37 and north of SR 204, Dixon became the first landowner to donate an easement with the Fairfield Land Preservation Association.  Dixon stated, "I wanted this land to be available for my neighbors to farm and to help keep farm ground affordable for the next generation".  Recognizing the importance of agriculture in Fairfield County, Walnut Twp. trustee Walter Gabriel stated, "We will support what the landowners want to do to protect their farm ground".  The FLPA wishes to extend our thanks to the Dixon family for their  dedication to land preservation.
